Photography 2020 – 2026
Photography, in my practice, is not simply a way of recording what I see. It is a process through which the visible becomes uncertain — transformed by time, memory, light and perception.
Working primarily with analogue cameras and black-and-white film, I develop my negatives and print my photographs by hand in the darkroom. The photographic process therefore continues long after the moment of exposure.
Landscape, architecture, human presence and accidental encounters become fragments from which another image can emerge. Through multiple exposure, contrast, disappearance, repetition and the materiality of the silver gelatin print, photography sometimes approaches drawing — hovering between document and abstraction, presence and absence.
01 — What Remains of Seeing
Recent analogue and darkroom works — images concerned with apparition, disappearance, memory and transformation.
02 — Landscape / Perception
Mont Blanc, Geneva, water, trees, storms and other landscapes where observation gradually moves toward abstraction.
03 — Palimpsest of Ruins
Ayutthaya works, multiple exposures and photographs where different moments coexist within a single image.
04 — Human Presence
Figures, gatherings, performances, bathers and traces of people within landscape and architecture.
05 — Photographic Objects / Darkroom
Contact sheets, diptychs, triptychs, experimental prints and works in which the photographic paper itself becomes part of the artwork.
Portraits and encounters in which the photographic image explores individuality, gesture and presence — between observation, intimacy and the distance created by the camera.
Photography does not always remain a single image. In my collaborations with the poet Vahé Godel, the photograph enters another space: that of the artist’s book and, particularly, the leporello.
